i thnk this qtn is wrng.bcz u have to mention dr was ny boat driver or not.if they(couples)can't drive,then hw is it psbl..

The question may be incomplete as there is no minimum no of people or maximum no of people on the boat at a time . So i might assume there can be all of them travelling at the same time and crossing the river !

question is not complete.the capacity of boat should be given.people who are giving answers as 7 are guessing the capacity of boat as 2 or 3.but we can't guess that.so question is incomplete.

Answer to this question is 16.

Considering at a time only 2 person can travel, since each couple doesn't want their partner to travel with other, Husbands alone have 6 possibilities. Wives alone have 6 possibilities. Each couple has 1 possibilities.
So, 6 + 6 + 4 = 16.
