for 5- (1,4)(4,1)(2,3)(3,2) ei 4 ways similarly for 7 thr are 6 ways(3,4)(4,3)(6,1)(5,2)(1.6)(2,5)..................out of a total of 10 ways getting a 5 will be in 4/10 ways (its a question from arun sharma)

we do not have to consider any sum other than 5 or 7 occuring.
a sum of 5 can be obtained by any of [4+1,3+2,2+3,1+4]
similarly a sum of 7 can be obtained as [6+1,5+2,2+5,4+3,3+4,1+6]
as 5 will come before 7 so number of fav. events will be n (e)=4
and total number of events will be 6+4=10
therefore probability will be = 4/10=0.4

sum for 5=4 sets. sum for 7=6 sets. so out of 10 we need problty for sum of 5 only . ansr is 4/10=2/5
