na re navneet g kha gye na galthi beta yr elitmus hai jo simple lagtha hai na uska answer kuch aur he hota hai ,,take example of 490/140 ,,490 is divisible by 7,2,5 but still not divisble by 140 ,,both are not sufficient ..

The answer will be YES or NO.
So it can be answered by either of the statement alone.

Both the statements cannot decide whether x is divisible by 140 or not.
There is a series of such numbers which is divisible by 2,5,7 but not by 140

First number is 140+70=210(divisible by 2,5,7 but not by 140)
Now keep on adding 140 to get the series
210+140 = 350(divisible by 2,5,7 but not by 140)
350+140 = 490(divisible by 2,5,7 but not by 140)
.....
.....
so on....

x is divisible by 5 & 2
Also x is divisible by 7 & 2
=> x is divisible by Lcm of 5,2,7,2 = 5*2*7 = 70 but doesn't guarentee divisibility by 140 ...
=>ans is both statements r nt sufficient.

First of all I think the question is about data sufficiency, And the answer should be that both the statements together are not sufficient as 140 has 7,2 and 5 as prime factors. So, to check the divisiblity by 140 no. should be div by 5,2 and 7.

140 has prime factors 2,5,7 so these must be present in chosen number thus 1.0 and 2.) both are required for divisibility of x by 140

aadarsh but here it is alreday givn tht x is devided by 140...if it is devided by 140...so x wll be..140 ,280,420...soon n thse wll be devided bt..2 ,5,7 and 140 also.........so it sld be yes..am i right?..

The question asked yes or no . so from statement 1 and 2 both give the ans NO so the correct option was B

14*11=11*14,calculate one of the above

so it is divisible by both the statement
