200*31=27*200+x*80
x=10
it means that 6 extra days

Let me say that the amount of food one soldier consumes in one day is 1 soldier-day food.

Total amount of food was 200 x 31 soldier-days = 6200 soldier-days
In 27 days, 200 soldiers consumed the food which is equal to 27 x 200 = 5400 soldier-days.
Left over food = 800 soldier-days
Now 800 soldier-days food will last 80 soldiers 10 days. Since 27 days are already over, it would have lasted only 4 more days but now it is going to last 10 days so it will last an extra 6 days.

total food = 200*31 = 6200,
food ate in 27 days by 200 soldier's = 5400,
rest food = 800 unit.
it can be consumed by 80 soldier's in 10 days,
so extra days = 10-4=6 days. Ans.

food will last for 31-27 if nobody will leave=4
now soldiers left in fort=200-120=80
therefore food will last for(200/80)*4=10
ans is 10 days

200*31 soldier-food is 100% food.
for 1 sol-day=1/62%food.
for 1st 27days %tage of food eaten=200*27/62=87%
nw 80 soldier r left...let no of days be x.
13% food=80*x/62=>x=10 days :)

total food soldiers= 200*31=6200
27 day of expension will be= 27*200=5400
remain food soldiers= 6200-5400=800
according to question 120 soldiers left the fort remaining solders = 80
so day= 800/80=10
so day will be=6
