let, the present ages be 5x and 6x.
and after y year the ratio will be 7:8
so,
(5x+y)/(6x+y)=7/8
or, y=2x
so, the ans will be multiple of 2 that depends on the value of x, moreover, their present age.
as, there is no data for their present age, u have to approach through options
