Make pairs as follows:
(9,12,4,8),(12,15,5,9),(3,6,2,6),(6,9,_,_)
9+3=12, 12/3=4, 4+4=8
12+3=15, 15/3=5, 5+4=9
3+3=6, 6/3=2, 2+4=6
similarly,
6+3=9, 9/3=3, 3+4=7
the next pair is 6,9,3,7
Answer. 3

Take consecutive two number as a pair and find the difference.......
12-9=3(1st pair)
8-4=4(2nd pair)
15-12=3(3rd pair)
9-5=4(4th pair)
6-3=3(5th pair)
6-2=4(6th pair)
9-6=3(7th pair)
suppose last number is y,x
then
x-y=4(8th pair)
and y*3=9
=> y=3
so
x-3=4
and x=7
so last two number is
3,7

take 9,12,4,8 as a pair
then 9+3=12 ,4*3=12 ,4+4=8
take 12,15,5,9 as a pair
similarly 3,6,2,6,
then 6,9,3,7

so answer is 3(ans)

first term+ last term = 9+9=18
12+6=018
4+6=10
8+2=10
12+6=18
15+3=18
so... in the next series it should be a sum of 10
5+x=10 s0 x=5
9+y=10 so y=1
