regluar hexagon is basically 6 eqilateral trangle
42/6=7
now the pentagon which is fomm now is having 5 eqilateral trangle so 7*5=35
ans=35

unbounded ares= (7*2)/2=7
area pentagon= 42-7=35

Area(regular hexagon)=6*Area(equilateral tringl)
=> 42 = 6*A(equilateral)
=> A(equilateral) = 42/6 =7

So,Area(pentagon) = 5* A(equilateral) =5*7 =35

sourav, a hexagon has 6 triangles so the area of one triangle Is 7 and pentagon has 5 triangles so 7*5=35, is the right answer........

are should be in m^2 and 6*7=42 is perimeter not area u guys r solving perimeter is area

area of regular polygon = (n*s^2)/4)*cot(180/n)

n= no. of sides of polygon, s= length of side

for hexagon ABCDEF, (6*s^2)/4)*cot(180/6)= 42

we get, s^2/4= 7/root 3

now for pentagon, ABCDE
area= (5*s^2)/4)*cot(180/5)

=5*(s^2/4)*cot(36)
=5*7/root 3* cot (36) = 49/root 3
