yr ye hai pure solution 2x-2y=1 2y(x/y-1)=1 x/y>1 therore (x/y-1) is always positive 2y*positive= 1 hence y is positive.....therefore it is solved by both the statemnt together ..ans 3 .
@ c. sunnel we dont assume values in data suffficient problem,,its for u @ AAA also

x=1/4 and y=-1/4
x=-2 and y=-1 and x=2 and y=1

2x-2y=1
=>x-y=1/2...1
x/y>1....2
div eq 1 by y
x/y-1=1/2y
now put value of x/y in above eqn as x/y>1
x/y-1 is always +ve
=> 1/2y is also +ve i.e y is +ve both statement is required.

2x-2y=1
let x=8,y=9
2*8-2*9=16-18=-2
here both x and y are positive but we r getting negative vaue of expression.
again taking x=9 and y=7
we get positive value of 2x-2y.so statement 1 alone is not sufficient to solve.
now consider statement 2
x/y>1
by taking any value of x and y..either positive or negative for x>y will get value>1.and by statement 1 it is clear that x and y should be positive..
hence right option is 3(both statement required to solve d question).

x-y = 1/2 clearly insufficient

answer is c

2x-2y=1 --------- (1)
let x=1 and y=1/2
=>2*1-2*1/2
=>2-1=1 whicch satisfy the equation (1) and always satisfy the equation when x>y
now,
x/y >1-------- (2)
the ratio of x/y always > 1 when x>y
1/(1/2)>1
=>2/1>1
so, both statement are required (c)

so either one is enough .
