answers is 8

because if it is rectangle shape. first cutting in middle of upper & lower layers and then horizontally & vertically.

because if it is a circular cake and we ma3 complete cuts diametrically then we are getting 6 peices.

those who are assuming the cake to be rectangular in shape are getting the answer as 8
but usually we suppose a cake to be circular in shape!!! :D SO in that case its 6 equal pieces !!!:D

kaisa bhi cake ho,i mean rectangular or circular,answer is 8,pehle quarter cut karenge by 2 vertical cuts..jisse 4 piece honge,and then 1 horizontal cut beech mei se,jisse 4 ke 8 piece ho jaenge

max. 8 parts... firstly use two cuts horizontally n vertically repectively...and now arrange these 4 pieces in 'STACK' format and apply last(3rd) cut..!! thats it..!!

Ans : 8
For Circle : make 2 full vertical cuts which makes it 4 equal pieces and then Cut it Horizontally Which makes 8 identical pieces (2*4 Equal pieces)

For Rectangle: Similarly Make 2 cut vetical (4 pieces) and then cut it Horizontally (2*4 equal pieces) ...

1st cut-4:00-10:00
2nd cut-2:00-8:00

according to me by three cut we can get only 3 pieces equal. (by making Y).those who are getting 6 pieces by making 3 cut ans is wrong as only 4 pieces will be equal and remaining 2 pieces will have greater share.
Pls recheck again.

explanation: on 1st cut=2
on 2nd cut=4
now put them in a row and 3rd cut=8.

3cut through dia passing from common centre ..

first cut from 12'o clock to 6'0 clock. It will make two halves.Next cut from 3'0 clock to 9'o clock. This will make 4 equal cuts. Now cut the cake horizontally.
Number of equal halves=8

It should be 6 because
If cake is circ. for 3 cuts(diagonally) it will create 6 equal parts
If cake is squ.for 3 equal cuts i.e(two cuts from tow of the diagonals create 4 equal parts and one from any of the four sides will make 6 equal parts.

if we made 3 cuts for a cake which of circular shape it won't produce 6 identical pieces....for suppose draw a circle draw 3 diameters then those pieces or not identical(horizontal,vertical,cross cut)

the cake i in any shape.. the cuttings are 3 so if we cut 2 times horizontally i.e layer by layer then form 3 peices and then cut 3rd time vertically, form 6 peices.. oterwise if cut as horizontally by layer and then 2times cutting vertically then form 8 peices..

Cut it horizontally.... so that we do get three pieces. of same length :D :P.. it was the one asked in my HR interview ;) :D :P :P... nice to see it here...

If it is a circle, we can have 4 identical pieces by making 3 cuts and it is in the shape of a rectangle we have 6 identical pieces.

no of pieces is given by 1+ (n(n+1)/)
thrfre, ans is 1+ 3*4/2= 7.
