total work = 1/7
the given ratio arun : vinay(work )
2x : x
now 2x+x = 1/7
x = 1/21
so arub will do 2/21 work
he will take 21/2 days to complete.

arun = 2(vinay)
2/v + 1/v = 7
v=21
therefore arun = 21/2
10.5 days

let Arun completes work in x days
then Vinay in 2x days
Arun + Vinay 1 day work=1/x+1/2x=1/7
on solving x=10.5
so Arun will complete work in 10.5 days

ans=10.5 days
total time taken by, Arun(A) + Vinay(V) =7 days
=>7days work of A + 7 days work of V
[according to ques, A does twice work for same time => A takes half time for same work]
=>total time taken by A= 7days work of A + 7/2 days work of A(i.e.7 days work of V) = 7 + 3.5 = 10.5 days

2+1/2X=1/7
3/2X=1/7
2X=21
X=21/2

vinay(work)=1/2*arun(work)

let arun's work=x therefore arun's one day work will be 1/x

but vinay=arun's/2 or x/2 therefore vinay's one day work will be 1/(x/2)


hence 1/x(arun)+2/x(vinay)=1/7
x=21...

ratio of work done by arun and vinay =2:1
total work done in=7 days
arun does it in =(2/3)*7=14/3=4days and 6 hours.

From the question arun's one day work=2* vinay's one day work
So a:b is ratio then a:2a is the format
3a=1/7
a=1/21
So totally 21 days take by arun alone to complete the whole work
