side of square=radius of both circles=1cm
intersecting area of circles =(pi*r^2)/4+(pi*r^2)/4 - area of square
= (pi*r^2)/2-1
= pi/2-1=1.57-1=.57cm^2

as in the square we have 90deg angle in the edges so that the quadrant formed has an angle of 90deg so the area of the circle is divided into 4 parts... by adding the areas of the 2 quadrants and subtracting the area of the square we can get the area formed by the intersecting points..
area of quadrant= pi/4*1^2
for 2 quadrants we have pi/2
area of square is 1^2
area formed by intersecting points is (pi/2)-1=.57

1-(pi/4+pi/4)=(2-pi)/2

if you will draw the condition with two similar circles it will be clear that
radius of both circles will be 1cm.
as square is formed by centre to pt of intersection it makes 90 degree angle
toata are of two circles = (pi.1^1)/4*2 = pi/2
area of square 1*1 = 1
subtract
both and u ll get 0.57cm sqare
