(87/2)*(16+102)=87*59=5133

total no of terms are 87
sum of n terms if 1st and last terms r known is (n/2)*(a+l)

since in AP.a=16,d=1,l=102
n/2[a+l]=51*118=6018.

there are in total 87 no.s between 16 and 102 (including 16)
so, by the formula of sum of n terms : n/2(2a+(n-1)d)
87/2(2*16+(87-1)1)
87/2(32+86)
87*59
=5133

U can also use (n*(n+1))/2..
(102*(102+1))/2 = 5253
but series starts with 16 .so,
(15(15 +1))/2 = 120
therefore ans= 5253-120 = 5133.
but simplest is using sum of n terms

this is an a.p. series so,
firstly find the no. of terms by formula of a.p.-
l=a+(n-1)d
102=16+n-1
n=87
sum in a.p.=n/2[2a+(n-1)d]
=87/2[2*16+86]
=87*59=5133
