1 hen --- 2 eggs ---- 1 day
20 hens --- 40 eggs ---- 1 day
So 20 hens can lay 40 eggs in 1 day
then 20 hens can lay 400 eggs in 10 days (40*10=400)

1 hen=100/50= 2 eggs in 1 day.

BY PUTTING FORMULA H1*W2*D1/H2*W1*D2
D2=50*400*2/20*200 =10ans..

Hey Guys, for that type of ques:
always Use the following Formulae:
|------------------------------------|
|M1*D1*w2 = M2*D2*W1 |
|-------------------------------------|

eg:- Here M1= 50; D1= 2; W1=200; M2= 20; d2= ?? ; W2= 400
put all values in the above Formulae
50 *2*400 = 20 * d2* 200
=> D2= 10 ans

From the Given details:
50 hens takes 2 days for laying 200 eggs,
50 hens takes 1 day for laying 100 eggs,
so 1 hen lays 2 eggs in 1 day.

Coming to the problem:
20 hens lays 40 eggs in 1 day
so 20 hens may lays 400 eggs in 10 days.
Answer is 10 days..

Friends logic here is very simple ..

50 hens lays 200 eggs in 2 days [ it means 100 per day (it means each hen lays 2 eggs) ]

therefor 20 hens lays 40 eggs per day , therefore 400/40 = 10 days .

where

W = work
now see here
M1= 50 hens
D1 = 2 days
w1 = 200 eggs
and

M2 = 20 hens
D2 = ? lets take x
W2 = 400 eggs


(50*2)/200 = (20*x)/400
after calculation x = 10
so that 20 hens takes 10 days to lay 400 eggs

50hens lays 200 eggs in 2 days so 200/50=4 . 4 eggs are laid by 1 hen in 2 days.so 1 hen can lay 2 eggs per day. so 20 hens can lay 40 eggs per day so 40* 10=400. It takes 10 days to lay 400 eggs by 20 hens

By applying chain rule we can get the answer.The process is like this

Hens Eggs Days
----------------------
50 ----> 200 --->2
20 ----> 400 --->?

so we have to find the days right
first put the days which is above the ? mark line and
then now compare hens and days lines we will get it like this

hens days
------------
50 2
20 ?

now assume for 50 hens only 2 days
for 20 hens it may take more days then what 50 hens take so (more / less)according to chain rule,so we have 50/20
like this compare eggs and days line also...
so finally we got like this 2*50/20*400/200
after solving we got 10 days this is the answer folks :)

so,
20 hen in 1 day=80
but we need to find ,in how many days 20 hens lay 400 eggs ,so 5*80=400
so it takes 5 days for 20 hens to lay 400 eggs

Deccrease in number of eggs will decrease the days required, so divide.
While decrease in number of hen will increase the number of days required, so multiply.
So
50hen---200eggs = 2 days
01hen---200eggs = 2*50 days
01hen---1 eggs = (2*50)/200 days
20hen--- 400eggs = (2*50*400)/(200*20)
= 10 days
