Let total no.of students be x
x=(x*5/100)+(x*5/100)+(x*50/100)+(x*20/100)+300
100x=(5*x)+(5*x)+(50*x)+(20*x)+30000
100x=80x+30000
20x=30000
x=1500

read question...they ask 50% of rest.it mean we should remove 10% first

let, total students be x.
here given, 5% students= answered all
5%=none
50% of rest , means (100-10)%=90%
hence,( 50% 0f 90)% =45% of students answered 3 ques.
20% answered=2
300 students answered= 1 ques.
now, (5+5+45+20)% = 75%
hence,( 100-75)%= 25% answered 1 ques.
given: 300 students answered 1 ques
hence, 25% of x = 300
solving, we get x = 1200 .

no. of students who ans. 3 questions=50%x
no. of students who ans. 2 questions=20%x
no. of students who ans. only 1 question=300
now, x=5%x+5%x+50%x+20%x+300
solving x=1500

if 5% not answerd it means 95%answered
95% inlude those who ans. 1/2/3/4 questions
now 95% of total (x) = .5x+.2x+300
.95x-.5x-.2x=300
25x= 30000
x = 1200

total we have to take as 100% so add all % 's i.e 5+5+50+20=80 so remining 20% is 300
so 100% is? 100*300/20=1500

300 is the value of 25%. so 100% is 1200.
