Given numbers 16,42,92,172 to find next term,
We have to calculate difference between numbers.
42-16=26
92-42=50
172-92=80
Now we have numbers 26,50,80
Here we should find difference between these numbers i.e. 50-26=24 and 80-50=30 here 24,30 are next numbers they are in AP with common difference 6 therefore next number in this series is 36,so we should add 36 to 8o=116,so 116 should be added to 172 to get next term which is 288.
Next term in the series is 288.
