The car driver has developed an addiction to apples: when he has apples aboard he eats 1 apple with each mile made. 1 round with 1000 apples , stop at 500 Miles, and drop of 500 apples there, then next round same, so at 500 miles, there are 1000 apples, move them to another 200 miles and drop off 800 apples. go back and get the 1000 apples and stop at 700 miles, so now you can deliver ( 300+700-300)= 700 apples

The driver will obviously need to drive back and forth. Lets find out what distance he can reach to have 2000 apples with him. The fuel consumption so to speak is 1 apple per mile. This will consist of 5 trips to transport 3000 apples. So its 5 apples consumed per mile.
3000-5D=2000. D = 200 miles.
Now the distance he can drive to end up with 1000 apples with him. this will be 3 trips.
so 2000-3D=1000. D =333.33 miles
Total distance covered = 533.33 miles.
Now final trip consuming (1000-533.33) apples leaving him with 533.33 apples to deliver to point B.
