5 day work does'nt imply (5*24) rather its implied (5*8)=40 because each day work is 8hrs given.
so 48hr--->1part--->1man
1hr--->1part---->48 men
8hr---->1part -->48/8 men
8hr--->3part--->(48/8)*3men =18 men

ANSWER : 48 Men

SOLUTION :

3 times of work in a day or in 8 hours
1 work in 8/3 hours

Again,
24*5+5=128 hrs taken to do 1 work by 1 men
1 hr taken to do 1 work by 128*1 men
8/3 hrs taken to do 1 work in 128*1*3/8 = 48 hours.
NOTE : Men & time are indirect proportion.

ANSWER : 48 Men

SOLUTION :

MEN WORK TIME
1 1 24*5+8=128 Hours
X(ASSUME) 3 8 Hours

Since Men & Work in DIRECT proportion and
Men & Time is in INDIRECT proportion.
So,

1/x = (1/3)*(8/128)
Or, x = 48

ANSWER : 48 men required

soln: total hour required for 1 man to complete 1 work= (24*5+8)= 128
total hour required for x man to complete 3 work= 8

work...man Direct proportion
hour ....man indirect...
so that......8*x*1=128*1*3.....x=16*3= 48

I think 15 men will be required because days are reduced by (1/5) and work is increased by 3 times so 5*3 = 15 men will be required.

Let, work=x and men required as m.
man,days and hours are directly proportional to work.
i.e (1*5*8)/(m*1*8)=x/3x
by solving this we get m=15
So, Answer is 15.

a man can do a work in 5 days and 8 hours means total work=5*8=40
3 times same work means =3*40=120
suppose x men working 8 hours per day i.e.,x=120/8=15
hence 15 men are required.
