we can understand it by writing in words
1
one time 1 that is =11
then two times 1 that is=21
then one time 2 and one time 1 that is= 1211
then one time one, one time two and two time 1 that is =111221
and last term is three time 1, two time 2, and one time 1 that is =312211
so our next term will be one time 3 one time 1 two time 2 and two time 1
13112221 and so on.....

The first row - 1 - contains one 1 -> 11
11 contains two 1's -> 21
21 contains one 2, one 1 ->1211
1211 contains one 1, one 2, two 1's ->111221
etcetera.
Building on that theory, it would go

111221 contains three 1's, two 2's, one 1-> 312211
312211 contains one 3,one 1,two 2's two 1's->13112221
13112221 contains one 1,one 3,three 2's, one 1,

answer is 13112221
in first digit we have only one 1.
so the next number is 11 (in this we have two 1's)
so the next number is 21 (in this we have one 2 and one 1 )
so the next number is 1211(in this we have one 1 , one 2,two 1's)
so the next number is 111221 (in this we have three 1's, two 2's, one 1)
so the next number is 312211 ( in this we have one 3, one 1,two 2's,two 1's)
so the next number is 13112221

That's called as look - and - say sequence in math. It's all about attaching count sequentially of the number of same digits in previous one to find the next one in sequence.

1. First number in sequence is 1.

2. To find the next one in sequence counting number of same digits in previous & writing the count with that digit. Here 1 appears one time so it's 11.

3. In previous, 1 appears 2 times so here it's 21.

4. In previous, 2 appears once & 1 appears once. Hence , it's 1211!

5. Now here previously 1 appears once, 2 appears once & again 1 appears twice. So next one is 111221.

6. Looking at previous, 1 appears thrice, 2 appears twice & again 1 appears once. So the next one is 312211!
