Let Peter's present age is = x
Paul's present age is = y
z year ago peter's age = x-z
z year ago paul's age = y-z

As per the above 2 conditions we get 3 equations
1. x+y = 35
2. x-z = y
3. x-z = 2(y-z)

solving the equations we have get only 3 values for x,y and z

X= 21, Y = 14, z=7

So peter's present age is 21..option d is correct.
