neither of the statements justify it. eg: let w=-1; 3*-1=-3 is odd;2*-1=-2 is even; but -1 is not a whole number.So, neither of statements justify it.

statement 2 is enough to solove this

3w is odd means w may be odd or fraction like 5/3 we can not guess what w is

2w is even so must and should w either odd r even i.e which is whole number . no fraction will give even output

Let whole number be 2
3*2=6 which is even
2*2=4 this is again even.

no, w is not a whole no. Because, always 2*whole no=even no.
but 3*whole=odd..it may be or may not be odd no.

when we put thise no in the below, condition is not satisfied so w cannot be a whole no.

Here they are asking about whole number. (i.e) Whole_number=0,1,2,3,4.....
So we need to substitute all the numbers in the place of 'w' and need to satisfies the queries.
Here if we substitute w=1, Then 3*1=3(odd) / 2*1=2(even) satisfies but If we substitute w=2, Then 3*2=6(even) / 2*2=4(even) not satisfied. So w is not a whole number.
