Hollow cube will have 125 -3^3 =125-27 = 98 cubes.

Total faces = 98*6 = 588.
If only 2 faces of the outer surface of the cube are painted totally , then total 50 faces of small cubes are painted.
Number of faces of the smaller cubes remain unpainted = 588-50 =538..option D
