according to my understanding the question is about total number of chocolates and not individual.

So my answer would be 140 [35* 4]

so simple!! finally each one have 35 chocolates. they are just exchanging so same chocolates would be in beginning, ans is 35+35+35+35=140

1) A-35 B-35 C-35 D-35
a gives 20% to c and 10% to b,i.e..,70% of x is 35
so (35/x)*100=70%
x=50
20% of x=10
10% 0f x=5
now A is 50,B is 35-5=30,C is 35-10=25
2) A-50 B=30 c=25 D=35
d gives 1/8 to b,i.e..,
d-(d/8)=35
d=40
1/8 of d=5
now D=40,B=30-5=25
3) A=50 B=25 c=25 D=40
a gives as many to b,twice to c ,thrice to d
let x be 10
25-x=b,b=15
25-2x=c,c=5
40-3x=d,d=10
x+2x+3x=60
a+(x=2x=3x)=110
3) A=110 B=15 c=05 D=10
A+B+C+D=140
35*4=140
