Length after removing pole is 12/3 = 4

Then before removing pole is 2 ('coz | 2 | 2 | is | 4 |)

i.e. Gap between two poles is 2m

1km = 1000m

Then split 1000m by 2m => we have 500 sections or gaps

Then no.of poles is 500 + 1st pole = 501 poles

Therefore n = 501.

if initially dere were x poles than d distance between each pole would be 1000/x-1 m
now if 1 pole is being removed
1000/x-2=4
250=x-2
x=252

If presently there are n-1 poles now, and the space between two poles is equal and that is 1 2/3 m or 5/3 mtr (and not 12.3 =4 mtr), then

no of spaces = 1000*3/5 =600
no of poles now = 601.
initial no of poles = 602

if gaps were equal, then after removing gap=12/3mtr.
this 12/3 mtr was divided equally befor,so gaps were of 12/(3*2)=>2mtrs.
(n-1)2=1000
n=501

initially 1 more pole was there so
250+1=251.
