The Answer is 21
The series consists of two series:
3,11,17 and 5,14,21( In each series the difference of successive term is reduced by two). Thus the next term would be 17+4=21

the ans is 21
consider alternate terms, the series are: 3, 11, 17,- and 5, 14, 21,-
now see the differences between consecutive terms that is decresing by 2 each time.
the first series will be like:
3+8=11, 11+(8-2)=17, 17+(8-2-2)=21, 21+(8-2-2-2)=23,and so on..
and the second series will be like:
5+9=14, 14+(9-2)=21, 21+(9-2-2)=26, 26+(9-2-2-2)=29,and so on..

hence the combined series will become 3, 5, 11, 14, 17, 21, 21, 26, 23, 29...
so the answer 21.

11-3=8
17-11=6 This is the first series.

14-5=9
21-14=7 This is the second series.

Required answer is 17+4=21

difference between 3&11 is 8,5& 14 is 9,11&17 is 6 ,14 &21 is 7
so we get new sequence as 8,9,6,7,4
so 4+17=21

i think it is 14.
clearly watching that only 14 is even.
so (C).14 is the answer.
