At the end of 7 days, a reinforcement arrives, and it is found that the provisions can last for 17 days more when supplied at the rate of 825 g per head. What is the strength of the reinforcement??
Total provisions at start
= 3300 * 32*850 g
Amount used in 7 days = 3300*7*850 g
Amount left = 3300*25*850 g
This will sustain 3300*25*850 / 17*825 people = 5000 people
What is the strength of the reinforcement?
= 5000 -3300
= 1700

This question can be solved by Chain rule. Refer RS agarwal

3300*850*25=(3000+x)*825*17

here x is the strength of recruitment.

solving it ,, x=1700 . 1700 is 100% correct
