ratio of their ages 12 years ago=15:13
therefore at present their ages will be=15x+12,13x+12
given after 19 yrs from now ratio of their ages will be 23:22
so,
15x+12+19/13x+12+19=23/22;
15x+31/13x+31=23/22;
22(15x+31)=23(13x+31);
x=1
present age of A= 15x+12= 27
present age of B=13x+12= 25
sum= 27+25= 52

B present age=13x+12=25
sum of their present ages=52

Let present age of A= x
and " " " B= y
12 years ago
age of A= x-12
age of B= y-12
ratio of there age's ==> (x-12)/(y-12)= 15/13
==> 15y-13x=24
==> y=(24+13x)/15 ----eq.(1)
19 years from now
age of A= x+19
age of B= y+19
ratio==> (x+19)/(y+19)=23/22
==> 22x-23y=19 ---eq.(2)
putting eq.(1) in eq.(2), we get
x=27
y=25
so sum of der present age's = x+y= 52
