according to the question
if x is the side of square and a and b are the sides of rectangle

then x^2 = 2(a*b) -------eq.1

since the rectangle share its 50% area ..so the length of the rectangle should be double to the side of the square
here, AE > AB
so, AE = 2x = a


and since the square share 25% of its area with rectangle, so its side should be 4 times the breadth of the rectangle
here, AD > AG
so, AG = x/4 = b

and a and b are satisfying eq.1 also

hence AE/AG = 2x/(x/4)= 8

it can be better understood after drawing the square and rectangle on paper with their shared areas

after visualizing the diagram
AE is collinear with AB
AG collinear with AD

let side of square is 4x, AB=4x
as 25% of area of square= 50% area of rectangle

AG = 14 AD
AG = x
AE = 2 AB
AE= 2x
AE/AG = 8x/x = 8/1
