the answer will be 9
as the question says how many time the "word 4" comes? note the language "word 4" not "digit 4"
if the question says digit 4, then answer would be 19, as every body said...but for "word 4" only 14, 24, 34, 44, 54, 64, 74, 84 and 94 will be taken into consideration.. but 41 to 49 (except 44) will not be considerd as there is no "word 4". the spelling is forty, forty one, forty two and so on.. ( it is not fourty, fourty one, fourty two......) very tricky question it is....

unit digit will be = 9
tenth digit will be = 10
so no of 4 occur in between 11 to 100 is 19.

40,41,42,43,44,45,46,47,48,49=10
so,9+10=19 times

18=11+7 because of 40 to 50 it consists 11

18 is the ans.bcoz 11 to 20= 10numbers ,in which one 4 comming
same 11 to 91=9 numbers, in which 9 times 4 is comming
