let CP of a be x and other than become 5x/4
So SP Of b is 5x/4 + x/8 = 11x/8
and SP of a is x + 3x/40 =43x/40
11x/8 + 43x/40 = 98
Thus x comes 40 ans

let the cp of cheaper one is x then cp of second is x+x*1/4=5x/4
110*5x/*100+107.5*x/100=98
1.375x+1.075x=98
x=98/2.45
x=40
so cost price of cheaper one is Rs 40

let cp of one clock be x
therefore cp of 2nd clock=5x/4
profit of dearer clock=(10*5x)/(100*4)=x/8
profit of cheaper clock=(7.5*x)/100=3x/40
total profit= 3x/40+x/8 = x/5
total cp= x+5x/4 = 9x/4
SP=CP+PROFIT
98=9x/4+x/5
x=40 ans

let cp one clock is x then another x+1/4x=5x/4
therefor x,5x/4
10%of x+7.5%5x/4=98
1/10(x)+9.3x=98
9.4x=98
x=10

let of cp of 1st clock is x,then cp of another clock will be 5x/4
now,sp of 1st clock=x+x*7.5/100=43x/40
sp of 2nd clock=5x/4 + 5x/4*10/100=55x/40
43x/40 + 55x/40=98
x=40
cost price of cheaper will be 40

sorry friends i have taken 10% it is 110% and 107.5%
therefore 110/100=1.1
107.5/100=1.075
by taking we get x=40.4
1.1*40.4=44
and another 54 so cheaper one is 44

if S.P means Sales Profit then ans is 490.
if S.P means Sales Price then ans is 40.

Let the 2 C.p's be x & 1.25 x
and the 2 profit %ages are 7.5 & 10
so Sp will be (1.25x)10 + (x)(1.075)=98
i.e 98000=2450x or x=40

let the cost price of cheaper one is x,then cost price of costly item is 5x/4
nw,he sells the dearest one(means the one having high price) at 10%profit and other(low price) at 7.5% profit...so s.p of costly item=5x/4+x/8 and s.p of low cost item is x+3x/40
now total s.p=5x/4+x/8+x+3x/40=98x/40
it is given that total s.p=98...so 98x/40=98
so x=40

ans is 490 rs
let a,b are two clockes
let x is cost of A, the cost of B is x+x/4=5x/4.
i.e (x*7.5/100)+((5x/4*10)/100)=98.
30x+50x=98*100*4
80x=39200
x=39200/80
x=490

Let the CP be 100 and 125,
Then SPs become 110 and 134
Total SP given in prob. is 98.

110+134=244

98/244 X 110 (cheaper one) = 44 This is SP.

CP= SP X 0.9091 = 40

Ans is 40

so c.p of dearer one is (x+X/4)= 5x/4
10% of 5x/4 + 7.5% of x = 98
x= 490
