assume there are 100 students
hindi failed=30
maths failed=35
both failed=27
hindi failed alone=30-27=3
maths failed alone=35-27=8
total failures=3+8+27=38
pass percentage=100-38=62% is the ans!!!!

Ans: 62%

Let total number of students 100

Students passed in Hindi n(H) = 70
Students passed in Maths n(M) = 65
Students failed in Hindi and Maths n(H'andM') = 27

Hence students passed in both subject n(H and M) = 73
Numbers of students passed in any subject n(H or M) = ?

n(H or M) = n(H) + n(M) - n(H and M)
n(H or M) = 70 + 65 - 73 = 62

i.e 62 out of 100 are passed = 62%
