ans) 174
total run=40*50=2000
total run in 38 inn=38*48=1824
total ru in remaining two inn=(2000-1824)=176
highest-lowest=172
highest+lowest=176
highest=174

let lowest score be x,then highest score =x+172
after excluding lowest and highest score average of 38 innings=48
i.e 2runs from each inning got decremented =2*38
so
x+(x+172)=2*50+ (extra runs deducted i.e 2*38)
=> 2x+172=100+176=176
=> 2x=4 => x=2
therefore highest score =x+172=174

2000-1824=176
So , 176-4=176
Highest=176
Lowest=4

Avg of 40 innings=50-->no. of runs=40*50=2000
Avg of 38 innings=48-->no. of runs=38*48=1824
Let x be lowest score.x+172 is highest score.
x+x+172=2000-1824(becoz two innings scores have to be removed)
2x+172=176
x=2
Highest score=2+172=174

total runs=40*50=2000
H-L=172
total runs excluding H and L are=38*48=1824
total remaining runs=2000-1824=176
As H-L=172(176-174=2)
H-2=172=>H=172+2=174
Ans:174

avg for 40 innings is 50 -> total runs =50*40=2000 runs.
same way, 48*38=1824. subtracting both we get highest and lowest scores sum.
2000-1824=176, 174-2=172 which is the diff b/w highest and lowest scores.
therefore highest score=174
