For men, the formula, n/P = 144 gives an approximate relationship between n and P where, n = number of steps per minute and P = pacelength in meters. Bernard knows his pacelength is 164cm. The formula applies to Bernard's walking. Calculate Bernard's walking speed in kmph.

Solution

n/P = 144 gives an approximate relationship between n and P where, n = number of steps per minute and P = pacelength in meters. Bernard knows his pacelength is 164cm.
Number of steps in one minute = 144*1.64
Distance travelled in 1 minute = 144*1.64*1.64 mtrs
Distance travelled in one hr = 144*1.64*1.64*60/1000 km = 23.24 km approx
This answer is given by DIPIN and is the correct answer

given n/p=144 (p-->in metre and n is no.of steps per minutes)
p=164cm=1.64m
n=1.64*144=236.16(that is no. of steps per minutes)
total distance is 164*236.16=38730.24 this is in cms
in km-->0.3873024km/minutes
0.3873024*60=23.238144 ( in hours)
it approximately to 23.62
