so 46*45=2070

The formula is- n(n-1)/2;
here n=46 (given)
so, n(n-1)/2= 46(46-1)/2;
46*45/2= 1035.
Total number of handshakes 1035.

n(n-1)/2 is the formula,where n is no.of people
if you have doubt with this, just try with 2 or 3 people you'll get it.
