let, the age of man=x ; the age of son=y;
x=3y.........equation(1)
x+5=5/2(y+5)....equation(2) [two and half means=5/2]
solving above two equations, we will get y=15
x=15*3=45
hence age of man and his son are 45 and 15 years respectively .
