let x=no of men. y=no of women. acc to question, 3/5*x=2/3*y, therefore, x/y = 10/9.
let x=10 and y=9. In this case, 6 men and 6 women are married to each other. total 12 are married. fraction of the residents are married= 12/19.

let x=20 and y=18, so that x/y=10/9. In this case, 12 men and 12 women are married to each other. total 12 are married. fraction of the residents are married= 24/38 or 12/19.
therefore 12/19 is the ans.
