orignal speed =40 km/hr from p to q let it be x
returning speed = 150% of 40 = 60 let it be y
average speed = 2xy/x+y
so 2*40*60/60+40=48 ans

initial 40 km/h, on return 60km/h. average = (40+60)/2=50

But when that returning the same distance with increasing his speed by 50%.
that means, the returning increasing speed is= (40/100)*50=20 kmph
the returning speed is= 40+20= 60kmph

therefore, the average speed of the both the trips is=(2*40*60)/(40+60)=4800/100=48kmph
