Let x be the number of sons of Lucia.
Each son has x-1 brothers, so each of them has x-1 sons
Number of grandchildren of Lucia = x(x-1)
Lucia's age = number of sons + Number of grandchildren = x+x(x-1), it should lie between 50 and 60
x=8 only satisfies the condition
so Lucia's age = 8+8*7=8+56=64

The question basically states that if lucia were to have say 10 sons, then each son would have 9 sons (lucia's grandsons - since each son has 9 brothers). So the total in this case would be 9*10 grandsons + 10 sons = 100. Solving for similar numbers, the answer is 8 sons and 7 grandsons from each son. The total is 7*8 grandsons + 8 sons = 64

answer is 64.
becoz 8 is the only possible number which satisfies the given condition. as their are 8 sons each son has (8-1=7) sons . therefore;
lucia age =8+(8*7)=8+56=64
