Let the two number be x and y. Sum of two number is x+y=2ab . given x=a.
therefore, a+y=2ab => y=2ab-a => y=a(2b-1)

second number is a(2b-1).

The sum of the numbers should be the product of these two values, so it is 2ab. One of the numbers is a, the other number can be obtained by subtracting this number from the sum of the two numbers, which is 2ab.
The second number is (2ab –a)
This will be the answer if they did not mention the second number as b. If they mention the second number as b, then all the answer choices will be in terms of a. Then, we can solve in the following manner
Second number = b = 2ab –a
2ab–b =a
b(2a –1) = a
b = a/(2a–1)

a/(2a–1) is the answer

ab=sum/2
sum=2ab
SInce, 1st number is given
a+x=2ab
x=a(2b-1)

As we know that avg of no=Addition Of all no/Total No.
so
here it is given 2nd no. is b
so (a+b)/2=ab
=>a+b=2ab
=>a=2ab-b
so a=b(2a-1)
