let the amount spent by swetha be 'S'

5p+3n+9x=S-----(1)

6p+6n+18pe=1.5S---(2)


Eq (1)x2 – Eq(2)

10p + 6n + 18x = 2S
6p + 6n + 18x = 1.5S
___________________

4p = 0.5 S
P = 1/8 (S)

So 5p is = 5/8(S) which is 62.5%

So amount spent by swetha on pencils is

{[(5/8)(s)]/(s)}*100 = 62.5%

let the amount spent by swetha be 'x'

5p+3n+9pe=x-----(1)

6p+6n+18pe=1.5x---(2)
By solving the equations we get

p=0.125x

%is 12.5
