min no of weighting is 5
16 8 4 2 1
1 1 1 1 1 = add all 16+8+4+2+1 = 31
so minimum is 5

5 is the corct ans.
1 kg can b measur by 1 kg stone
now v hv total 2kg weight(1 kg rice n 1 kg stone)
Now again 2 kg rice can b measur by 2kg weight
now v hv total 4 kg weight.
4kg rice can b weight by 4 kg n so on

min no of weighting is 6
one stone is kept to weigh one kg of rice..one kg of rice plus one kg of stone can be used to weigh 2 kg of rice,. then 2kg of rice plus one kg of stone can be usd to weigh 3 kg of rice so on..

-1 stone measure 1kg (total 2kg)
-2 kg measure 2kg(total 4kg)
- 4kg measure 4kg (total 8kg )
-8kg measure 8kg(total 16kg)
-16kg measure 16kg (total 32kg)

32kg - 1stone= 31kg

We need 5 operation :)

first time 1 kg rice
2nd time 2 kg rice
3rd time 4 kg rice
4th time 8 kg rice
5th time 16 kg rice
Total 31 kg rice

5 ans.....
step1: weight 1kg by using 1kg stone ===1
step2:now keep 1kg stone+1kg rice on one side and weight 2kg rice ===2
step3: now keep 1kg stone+1kg rice +2kg rice on one side and weight 4kg rice===4
step4: now 1kg stone+rice(1kg+2kg+4kg)====8kg
step5: 1kg stone +rice(1kg+2kg+4kg+8kr)====16kg

now total ==1+2+4+8+16=31
