There should be 152 cuts

If you take 3 metres cloth
_ _ _ there are two cuts

If you take 6 metres cloth
_ _ _ _ _ _ there are five cuts . .

Like that if you want to cut a n metre cloth into unit pieces the number of cuts required is (n-1).

152 times.for n pieces n-1 cuts are required

Ans.152 cuts
Because when you make the last cut,two pieces are obtained.

this can be explained if we take 2m rope and you have to cut it into 1 mt pieces then only 1 cut is required.

In case of 3m rope,cuts required are 2.

and so on for n meter rope,the no. of cuts required are (n-1).

[There can be one be one one variation for this ques. Suppose you want to cut a 2m cloth into 1/2m long piece.Follow the following steps:
a.find the no. of 1/2m pieces that can cut from 2m rope=2/(1/2)=4{n*2}
b.now the no. of pieces=(4-1)=3{2n-1}
So,the general formula is (2n-1)
