let a be the no of children older than 5 years
let b be the no of children 5 or less than 5 years
so total no of chocolates from two conditions is 5a+6b
i.e 5a+6b=96
we cant calculate total no of children(a+b) by using above equation
so both statements are not sufficient

according to equation 5x+6y=96
where x= Older than 5 year
y= 5 or less than 5 year

so that value of x and y are
