come in the reverse order 1+3=4and twice of it 8+2=10 and twice of it
20+1=21 and twice of it 42.

She had spend a total of 34 dollar form the beginning. But it has not mentioned in the question that at last she had no amount left with her. If she had no amount left at the end then 34 is the correct answer.

34 dollars she had in the begining..

remaining 3dollars she gave to recepotionist. = 3dollars
spent remaining half dollar in buying some goods = 3*2 = 6dollars
gave 2 dollar to waiter means = 6 + 2 = 8dollars
spent remaining half dollar in hotel means= 8*2 = 16dollars
she give one dollar to beggar means = 16 + 1 = 17dollars
Half of money she had for shopping means = 17 * 2 = 34dollars
