8/6 + 6/8 + x/12 =3

Mr.C work for 11days to complete the work.

3 houses to be paint.
Mr.A can paint 1 house in 6 days.
Mr.B can paint 1 house in 8 days.
Mr.C can paint 1 house in 12 days.

If Mr.A paints for 8 days, he paints = 8/6 houses
If Mr.B paints for 6 days, he paints = 6/8 houses

So, remaining painting work have to be done by Mr.C is,

Days to work for Mr.C = 3 - 8/6 + 6/8

= 3 - 32/24 + 18/24
= 3 - 50/24
=(3/1)-(50/24)
= 72/24 - 50/24
= 22/24
= 11/12.

So, Mr.C working for 11days to complete the remaining painting for house.

Mr.A = 1/6 paint/days
Mr.B = 1/8 paint/days
Mr.C = 1/12 paint/days

3 house to be painted

Mr.A = 1/(6*3) paint/days for 3 house
Mr.B = 1/(8*3) "
Mr.C = 1/(12*3) "

Equation becomes ->

[(1/(6*3))*8] + [(1/(8*3))*6] + [(1/(12*3)*x)] = 1

//(Work/days)*days done = 1

Solving eqn, x = 4

So Mr.C needs to work for 4 days
