if you draw the diagram it will look something like this and we get 2 right angle triangle and using pythgoras theoram we can get 10m and 10m.

Distance traversed by each would be Square root(6^2 + 8^2) = 10.
Therefore option b) 10 miles 10 miles is right.

We can use the Pythagoras theorem to find the distance of them from their starting point.

1 person :
6^2 + 8^2 = OB^2
√36+64 = OB
√100= OB
10 = OB...
The distance of first person from his starting point is 10 miles.

Similarly the distance of second person from his starting point is 10 miles.
