let no of ducks=d and no of goat=g
d+g=80(heads)----------> eq 1
each duck has 2 legs and goat has 4 legs
2d+4g=260 and divide 2d+4g=260 by 2 we get d+2g=130 -----------> eq2
subtract eq1 from eq2
we get no of goats=50

x+y=80
2x+4y=260
solving the equation we get x=30 and y=50

4G+2D=260......[4G=4 means 4leg of goat, 2D means 2 legs of duck]

goats are 50 by solving the below equation we can find answer
2x+(80-x)4=260
by solving we get x=30 so goats 80-x=50

Let the number of ducks be x and number of goats be y
x + y = 80
2x + 4y = 260
Solving the equations we get y = 50 and x = 30

Hence , no of goats is 50

Let No. of Goats be x ,then number of ducks is (80-x).[Since there were 80 heads]
therefore, 4*x +(80-x)*2=260[Since no. of legs of duck is 2 and that of goat is 4]
therefore x=50.

Let x be the ducks then 80-x be the goats
so, total legs=260
therefore 2x+4(80-x)=260
as ducks has 2 legs and goat has 4 legs.

130-80=(number of four leg animals)i.e,goats
goats=50
total animals =80
80-four legged animals gives two legged animals
80-50=30
ducks=30
therefore Number of goats=50
