Ans : B (2) alone is sufficient
Explanation : When one piece is 3 Feet 2 inches, the other two will not be longer than this, as total is only 6 feet.

Ans. longer piece will be 1 feet 9 inches longer than each of the smaller pieces of same length (1 feet 5 inches each) .

When the string is cut into three pieces. If one piece is 3 feet 2 inches long then the other two pieces of equal length will be 1 feet 5 inches each.
So longer of these pieces will be 1 feet 9 inches longer than each of the smaller pieces of same length.

As we have to answer "HOW LONG IS THE LoNgEr OF THREE PIECES" rather than 'the longest among three' so i think option C make sense
