Second Side another 13 and First side last pole will be first pole on second side.
Third Side another 13 and First side last pole will be first pole on second side.
Forth side another 12 because first side and third side last poles also will be added to forth side

14+13+13+12 = 52

We have 1 post at each corner of the square making total posts at corners as 4. Further 12 post on each side of the square between these corner posts making total posts between corner posts as 48.
So total posts there in all four sides = 4 + 48 = 52

but square having 4 corners that are repeated =56-4=52
