Let each student gets X rupees.
Then, No. of students would be 300/x
If there would be 10 more students, No. of students would be =(300/x)+10
As per the given statemtn, each student gets Re. 1 less:
Thus, each student gets x-1
Now the equation would be;
(x-1)(300+10x)=300
solving this the following quadratic equation follow:
x^2-x-30=0
Now the value of x either 6 or -5
No. of students would be 300/6=50

Let X = Total Number of students.
And Y = Original Rupees receive by one student.

Y = 300/X

300/(X+10) = (Y-1)

300 = (Y-1)(X+10)

300 = ((300/X)-1) (X+10)

300 = ((300-X)/X) (X+10)

300X = (300-X)(X+10)

300X = 300X + 3000 - X^2 -10X

X^2 +10X - 3000 = 0

(X-50) (X+60) = 0

X=50 or X=-60

X cannot be negative. So, X = 50

let no. of students=x
300 rs. distributed among x students
1 student get(300/x)
then,no.of students=(x+10),hen 1 student get=(300/x)-1
=>300/(x+10)+1=(300/x)
