Average speed for the entire journey:
Total distance covered/Total time taken
Let the total distance covered is 650 miles
Time taken for the first part of the journey=0.65*650/65=6.5h
Time taken for the second part of the journey=0.35*650/v=227.5/h
Now, the equation is : 650/(6.5+227.5/v)=50
Solving this, we get v=35mph

If total disdtance is 100 miles.
Total time taken = 100/50 = 2 hrs
Time taken for first 65 miles = 65/65 = 1 hr
Time taken for balance 35 kms = 2-1=1 hr
so speed v for balance 35 kms = 35 miles/hr
